1. Rose Room Sayulita
Rose Room is known in Sayulita as the studio to go to, known for their superb instructors and down to earth classes. We love that during classes there seems to be a community that is regularly coming. When taking a class at Rose Room expect to be led with descriptive, authentic, instructors. The classes are a breath of fresh air, allowing for laughter and fun sprinkled throughout sessions. Be prepared to come a bit outside your comfort zone, but not too far that you don’t feel safe. Most classes are tailored to all levels, just be sure to check their schedule to confirm. Each instructor brings a plethora of knowledge to every class, and each is different from the other.
The Rose Room is situated on top of Don Bonito Hotel where just below is a cafe offering delicious breaky and lunch. (They even named a tea after Rose Room). We recommend bringing your own mat (if you can,) since the classes fill up fast, but they do offer rental mats if you cannot bring your own.
Paraiso was founded in Sayulita in 2009 and is the only studio to offer yoga teacher training! We love that Paraiso is a locally founded studio and that it is located on the North Side, within a property filled with greenery and just steps from the beach (coffee on the beach after class is especially satisfying). Paraiso is a small palapa that captures the essence of the Sayulita jungle. Classes are intimate and relaxing. The studio is well worth a visit if you have never gotten the pleasure to participate in a class here.
Classes are led by knowledgeable instructors and the lovely owner, Nara , offers a Thai massage on the property. Besides being a master in yoga and massage, Nara has also studied many years within shamanic practices and offers her knowledge to those that seek her out.
3. My Sisters House
My Sister’s House is a woman’s only hostel, however, yoga classes and workshops are open to all genders. Sisters is a serene space that welcomes some of the most kind and caring instructors within Sayulita. They offer some non-traditional classes such as Yoga for Surfers. Additionally they provide a breathwork class that is led by a professional free-dive instructor ( so you know they’re great!) which can be taken for people learning to free-dive, spearfish, or just want to work in breathwork. The hostel also offers a wide range of workshops from macrame to self defense to reiki, so there is sure to be something that will catch your eye!
Sisters House is a conscious community offering all their regular classes on a conscious donation, making it the most affordable option to practice yoga in Sayulita (recommend donating 100-400mxn). You can find their updated schedule at Enformasayulita.com.
4. Hotelito Los Sueños
This spacious palapa offers one of the most tranquil spots in town. We especially love Chel and Henry´s classes! Henry has the added spice of teaching in both English and Spanish (language learning and yoga please) Classes are suitable for all levels.
The large hotel studio palapa is clean and the instructors are knowledgeable. Los Sueños also offers a 50% discount on their breakfast (only 100 pesos!) after all yoga classes, it is delicious and authentic, definitely worth a try!
5. Selina Hostel Wellness Center
Selina hostel has a lovely rooftop shaded by a palapa where they host free yoga classes for their guests and availability for drop ins if you are not a guest. The rooftop looks out at the ocean and offers a cool breeze. Selina’s rooftop hosts a variety of other classes and workshops.
You can find their updated schedule for yoga classes and other events at the reception or on our website at enformasayulita.com as well as all of the other studios schedules listed in this blog.
6. Sayulita Yoga Center
Sayulita Yoga Center will be a favorite place to practice yoga in Sayulita. The owner, Graziella has been practicing yoga for 22 years .She became a keen student of the Iyengar method and has been fortunate to attend many classes and workshops with many gifted and enthusiastic Iyengar teachers. The staff are all knowledgeable and well trained instructors with many years under their belts. We highly recommend visiting this gem of Sayulita.
SYC is located off the Punta Mita highway with easy parking. The space is air conditioned, simple , and clean. Well equipped with blocks, blankets, and props there is no need to worry if you do not have your own!
7. Anjali Casa Divina
Anjali has one of the most spectacular views of Sayulita. Sitting on top of the jungle you can see straight out to the Pacific Ocean as you swan dive into down dog. Enjoy the fresh breeze and 360 views inside this truly divine studio. During high season be on the lookout for sound healings and other workshops offered here in addition to their regular schedule. The studio comes equipped with their own mats, blankets and blocks.
Anjali hosts classes everyday in high season. During low season (June -September) Make sure to notify the studio before 18:00 (6pm) the day before to register for your class here. Find out more at Enformasayulita.com or reach out directly to us on Instagram @enformasayulita
